THE ANNUAL TRAIL OF TEARS

This is the route the reluctant Cherokee Native Americans took, on their way from their homes in the Mountains of nearby East Tennessee, and North Carolina, to the flat lands of Oklahoma. Many Americans talk about the people who come to the United States,  and settle illegally, while other people talk about discrimination, yet no people were discriminated against, or their lands taken from them, any more than the Native Americans. From the peaceful Cherokee's, to the more fearful Apaches, they were put on reservations, starved, mistreated, and treated like animals.

The " Trail of Tears" means just that, it is the trail the Indians took on their way from the mountains in the east, to Oklahoma. Many of the Cherokee's dying of starvation, disease,  being mistreated and killed by the white military who rode the trail with them, on horses, and marching the native Americans as prisoners.

It is indeed tearful today, to think of how these people were treated. This ride is about them, the Cherokee's.
