INDUSTRY Bridgeport has Jacobs Manufacturing, which is the oldest Industry in the city. It is privately owned and operated by Buddy and Vicki Jacobs, and was founded in the 1800's. The foundry used to manufacture wood and coal stoves. They now do contract work, for other Industries who require gray cast iron castings. Tennessee Alloys, manufactures an additive for other metals. Beaulieu of America, manufactures yarn for the carpet Industry. They have two plants in Bridgeport. United States Stove Company, manufactures stoves. United States Gypsum, manufactures wall board, and compounds for the drywall Industry. We will have more on these Industries and pictures as times goes along. Please keep checking the website. FOLLOWING ARE AVAILABLE INDUSTRIAL SITES

View of approximately 2,000 available acres along the Tennessee River in Bridgeport.
Property adjacent to the Tennessee Alloys and United States Stove Company.
Bridgeport has an abundance of great land for Manufacturing Industry. The City of Bridgeport recently purchased seventy acres on US Highway 72, where a new Hospital will be built soon. This property will be developed by the City of Bridgeport for Retail Industry. We will have water, gas and sewage to this location. It is ideally located in a V, with Stevenson, Alabama to the top left, South Pittsburg, Tennessee to the top right of the V, and Bridgeport at the bottom. We are looking at approximately 25-30,000 people within a 15 mile radius of the location. This would be an ideal place for a large supermarket, drug stores, textile stores or building supply stores. If you are looking for an ideal location to start a new business, please contact Mayor John Lewis at 256-495-2800. Highway 72 has more traffic than Interstate 59 on a daily basis. Bridgeport would be an ideal spot for a big truck plaza or a truck stop.
